Pennsylvania’s Handguns have set a release date for their debut full-length album, Angst.
Angst will be released via Pure Noise Records on September 24, and promises to deliver “a huge step in their progression from a basement dwelling pop punk band to a polished rock outfit that balances both a sugary hook and a driving rhythm section”
You can listen to new track ‘Song About You’ from Angst below
Unsigned pop punk bands, listen up: Thanks For Nothing Records are looking to expand their roster into pop punk, and want to hear your music.
The Scottish label has been going for more than a year now, and while its roster is currently more hardcore bands at the moment, Thanks For Nothing is looking for pop punk acts and wants to hear from you.
Ross of TFN Records said: “We’re Thanks for Nothing Records, been going just over a year now and have established ourselves pretty quickly and worked with some cracking bands including Heavy Hands, Trial & Error and Disguise Your Beauty.
“We have been working with a lot of heavier bands but since day one we have always wanted to work with a pop punk band as well and we can’t think of a better time to do it than now.
“We are currently working on growing our audience and expanding our roster and to go forward the right way we need a pop punk band.
“We want a catchy pop punk band whether they’re emotional Basement/Man Overboard types, agressive TSSF/Such Gold types or upbeat Set Your Goals /Four Year Strong types we’re all ears.”
Sound interesting? Well if you want to submit your music you’ll need to have released one physical format (CD/Tape) album/EP and have a digital option as well.
North Wales pop punk band Neck Deep have announced the title, art and release date of their forthcoming EP, as well as a new track.
The new EP, called Rain In July will be the band’s first release on We Are Triumphant records and distributed by Victory Records.
You’ll be able to get hold of a copy of Rain In July from September 18, but in the meantime you can listen to new track All Hype, No Heart below! According to the band it’s something of a bonus track from Rain In July.
In the band’s own words:
“This is our sort of “bonus track” off the EP. We’ve always wanted to a one off, hard, fast, fuckin’ Tony Hawk style vibin’ track, so here it is. This song is about the guys in every town who jump on every trend, ruin anything good, barely passed high school, spend every night in clubs and who generally don’t have a fucking clue about anything that isn’t shoved in their face, they just do it to look good.”
UPDATE: Here’s a three-minute preview of the whole EP
